This month I attended the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club, Rochester NY. This was my first time attending a PGA tournament. I was amidst the crowd that you would see on TV for three out of four days the tournament took place.
Watching the professional golfers in real time, as expected, was a much different experience than watching them on screen and the energy from the crowd was intriguing. Some of the players I followed were Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Ricky Fowler, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott and winner, Jason Dufner. I was amazed to see the excitement the tournament brought to the city of Rochester for many different people of all ages. (The Buffalo Bills training camp was also taking place nearby earlier in the week). Walking the course was a workout but, for my first PGA tournament I enjoyed it.
Jason Dufner will now join Adam Scott (Masters Champion), Justin Rose (U.S. Open Champion) and Padraig Harrington (in place of Phil Mickelson) in the 2013 PGA Grand Slam in Bermuda on October 15.
There were no cameras allowed on the greens but I managed to take a few photos.
